Job Description
- Own and continuously improve the company's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including HACCP, Preventive Controls, and GMP compliance
- Lead and oversee all Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs across manufacturing sites, co‑manufacturers, and suppliers
- Serve as the primary owner of food safety certification programs (e.g., SQF or equivalent) and lead regulatory and third‑party audits
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA (including Organic, where applicable), state, and relevant international regulatory requirements
- Drive a proactive quality culture through training, clear accountability, and leadership development
- Lead deviation management, root cause investigations, and CAPA programs to ensure effective and sustainable resolution
- Define, track, and report quality KPIs across internal operations and external partners
- Build and manage supplier and co‑manufacturer quality programs, including audits and performance management
- Partner with R&D and Operations to embed quality throughout product development, scale‑up, and commercialization
- Oversee label compliance, claims review, and regulatory readiness for new product launches
- Maintain recall readiness, crisis management plans, and regulatory response procedures
- Monitor regulatory trends and proactively adapt policies and procedures as requirements evolve
- Develop and manage the Quality budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility
- Support packaging and material compliance, including supplier qualifications and safety validation

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Director Of Quality Assurance Should Have
- 15 years of progressive Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in food and beverage manufacturing preferred
- Experience managing or overseeing third‑party or co‑manufacturing partners
- Certifications such as PCQI, HACCP, and internal auditing required; food safety certification leadership experience (e.g., SQF Practitioner or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety requirements
- Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically in fast‑growth environments
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally to partner manufacturing sites
