Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesContinuous Improvement Leadership
- Lead the development, deployment, and sustainment of Lean and Continuous Improvement strategies across all operational areas.
- Facilitate kaizen events, value stream mapping, standard work development, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities.
- Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities impacting productivity, quality, lead time, labor efficiency, and operational costs.
- Analyze end‑to‑end processes and implement solutions that eliminate waste and improve flow within machining, assembly, testing, and material handling operations.
- Partner with operations and engineering to optimize work instructions, routings, and fixture/tooling setups to increase reliability and repeatability.
- Improve key operational KPIs, including on-time delivery, throughput, scrap reduction, and equipment uptime.
- Support quality assurance initiatives by strengthening root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative measures.
- Ensure continuous improvement efforts support compliance with required quality management systems and customer expectations.
- Use data-driven methods-including statistical analysis, dashboards, and process metrics-to diagnose performance gaps and measure improvement impact.
- Standardize reporting and visibility tools to help teams manage daily performance and long-term improvements.
- Train and mentor employees at all levels on Lean concepts, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and proactive problem solving.
- Support change management activities to ensure improvements are adopted, sustained, and scaled across the organization.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence within a precision manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools: VSM, 5S, standard work, Kaizen, SMED, visual management, PDCA, and root cause analysis.
- Data-oriented mindset with experience in analytics, process measurement, and KPI development.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams on process-related improvements.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical actions.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (Green Belt).
