Job Description
The Safety Superintendent partners directly with project teams to ensure safe jobsite execution while promoting a proactive safety culture across all self‑perform work.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and inspect jobsite practices to ensure safe working conditions
- Coordinate with Safety Director and Project Superintendents on compliance
- Respond to and resolve project‑related safety concerns
- Conduct safety orientations and ongoing workforce training
- Investigate injuries and safety‑related incidents within the workforce
- Develop site‑specific safety plans and client‑requested materials
- Promote safety culture with employees, trade partners, and clients
- Participate in corporate safety committee initiatives and events
- Advise teams on OSHA and regulatory compliance standards
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate is a field‑savvy safety leader with strong GC exposure and established relationships in the DC Metro construction market.
You Bring
- 5 years of progressive construction safety experience
- Background in excavation, site‑work, concrete, and civil construction
- Experience supporting projects ranging from $500K-$20M (preferred)
- Strong understanding of daily construction operations and sequencing
- Existing GC network that supports relationship‑building and visibility
- Bilingual skills (preferred)
- Base salary up to $130K (depending on Exp.)
- Annual discretionary bonus tied to company revenue
- Up to 15% of W‑2 earnings through 401(k), employee stock ownership, and profit sharing
