Job Description
- Plan, coordinate, and execute construction completions and commissioning activities for assigned projects
- Track completion status, testing progress, and verification documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements
- Review contracts and technical specifications to identify completion and commissioning requirements and support compliance audits
- Define and manage system boundaries, turnover scopes, and turnover packages for project handoff
- Develop and maintain completion tracking tools, reports, and documentation; ensure field teams are aligned with processes and systems
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to support commissioning, startup, and testing activities
- Support or lead the development and execution of commissioning and startup plans
- Perform inspections and system verifications, including acceptance or rejection based on completion criteria
- Support checkout, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities by resolving field issues and ensuring readiness
- Maintain accurate and complete project documentation for reporting, recordkeeping, and turnover requirements
- Interface with project management, construction leadership, and clients to communicate status, risks, and next steps
- Mentor junior staff and support team development where applicable
- Assist with proposals and planning efforts related to completions and commissioning
- Adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and company policies
The Successful Applicant
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant field experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience supporting construction completions, commissioning, or startup activities on industrial or commercial projects
- Senior-level candidates typically bring multiple years of direct completions or commissioning experience
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, testing, and turnover processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documentation
- Experience with completion tracking systems and documentation control
- Strong communication and coordination skills across field and office teams
- Working knowledge of field safety practices and execution standards
- Familiarity with vendor coordination and integrated startup processes
