Job Description

Responsibilities for the Carpentry Estimator Position

• Prepare accurate and timely carpentry estimates for interior construction and tenant improvement projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop detailed quantity takeoffs
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and field teams to clarify scope and constructability
• Identify cost risks, value-engineering opportunities, and alternate pricing options
• Maintain estimating databases, templates, and historical cost data
• Support bid presentations and assist with project handoff after award

Successful Candidate Profile - Carpentry Estimator

• Proven experience estimating commercial carpentry and interior construction projects
• Strong understanding of framing, drywall, millwork, and interior finishes
• Highly skilled at reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings
• Detail-oriented with the ability to produce accurate, well-organized quantity takeoffs and pricing
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven bidding environments
• Confident communicator who collaborates effectively with preconstruction, project management, and field teams
• Analytical thinker who can identify cost drivers, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
• Proficient with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Excel-based pricing models
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple estimates simultaneously
• Interested in long-term growth within a stable, team-oriented construction organization
