Our client, a well‑established and growing General Contractor, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their Greenville team. This is an urgent backfill hire supporting a strong pipeline of commercial work.
The APM will work in-office, partnering closely with the Project Manager (reporting to one of our previous placements) and supporting projects across commercial offices, medical offices, and retail - split roughly 50% TI / 50% ground‑up, with typical project values up to $5M.
Job Description
- Assist in managing all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to oversee progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and reports.
- Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve any project-related issues or challenges promptly.
- Support the project manager in all administrative and operational tasks related to construction projects.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Assistant Project Manager (APM) Should Have
- 1-2 years of GC experience (renovation or ground‑up)
- A genuine passion for the industry, strong communication, and commitment to owner relationships
- Experience or exposure to estimating, scheduling, buyouts, procurement, and understanding the full project lifecycle
- Construction degree preferred, but equivalent hands‑on experience considered
- Competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $90,000 annually.
