Job Description
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of four architectural/ design staff, ensuring alignment with AXP pathways and professional licensure development.
- Oversee architectural production, design quality, project coordination, and documentation standards.
- Provide strong leadership in planning, design development, code review, consultant coordination, and QA/QC.
- Partner with project managers, preconstruction, and construction teams to support integrated design‑build delivery.
- Manage workload assignments, staffing forecasts, and team capacity planning.
- Participate in strategic growth, process improvements, and design technology initiatives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams, clients, and engineering partners.
- Guide less experienced staff through structured training, career development plans, and ongoing mentorship.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Architect Should Have
- 7-15 years of architectural experience, with prior team leadership strongly preferred.
- Licensed Architect (or ability to mentor licensure candidates through AXP).
- Strong portfolio of work across commercial, institutional, light industrial, or civic markets.
- Experience at reputable architecture or integrated firms such as HagerSmith, ISG, SFLA, HKS, Gensler, Perkins&Will, or similar (not required but aligns well).
- Excellent communication, team leadership, and client‑facing skills.
- Ability to lead multiple projects while coaching junior and growing design staff.
- Strong understanding of design technology, building codes, and integrated project workflows.
