Position Overview
Michael D. Tuck, CPA, P.C. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our tax and accounting team. This position focuses on document management, client communications, tax return assembly, electronic filing administration, and general office support.
This is primarily an administrative position and does not involve preparing tax returns or performing accounting work. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with technology, and enjoys working in a professional office environment.
Responsibilities
· Greets visitors by serving as first point of client contact in person and via phone
· Answer multi-line incoming phone calls, take messages, schedule appointments and assist with general office operations
· Provides reception and other office services, such as mailing, filing and ordering office supplies.
· Organize and scan, maintain client documents and electronic files
· Print, assemble, scan, and electronically archive completed tax returns
· Process electronic filings, assist with electronic signatures, extensions, e-file rejections, and filing authorizations
· Track tax returns through preparation, review, and filing stages
· Prepare routine correspondence for clients, the IRS, and state tax agencies
· Coordinate client pickup and delivery of completed tax returns and documents
· Maintain accurate records and protect confidential client information
· Provide administrative support to the firm's tax and accounting staff
Qualifications
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in fast paced environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
· Comfortable learning and working with multiple software systems
· Dependable, professional, and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous administrative experience in a professional office environment such as a CPA firm, legal office, financial services office, medical office, or similar professional setting
· Experience with tax return processing procedures is helpful but not required
This position is administrative and applicants are not expected to prepare tax returns or perform accounting tasks.
Tax return processing training will be provided for the right candidate.
Schedule
· Full time, year-round position
· Additional hours available during tax season (January through April)
