Our growing AG / Food Processing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Fumigation Technician for this IMMEDIATE FULL-TIME CAREER OPPORTUNITY.
SALARY - $60K to 90K Per Year (depending on experience)
BENEFITS – Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Vacation, Holiday Pay, Sick Pay
LOCATION – Modesto
HOURS – Monday thru Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (some Saturdays as needed during season, Sept-Nov)
The Fumigation Technician will be responsible for protecting stored almonds from insect infestations by applying specialized materials to stockpiles, warehouses, and processing equipment. This role demands high safety standards, adhering to EPA labels, and managing airtight seals on tarps.
Core Responsibilities
- Fumigation Application: Seal stockpiles with tarps, and warehouses, apply fumigants according to label instructions and safety protocols.
- Monitoring & Safety: Monitor gas concentrations during treatment (3–7 days) to ensure effectiveness and verify airtight seals to prevent leaks.
- Inspection: Inspect warehouse premises, processing areas, and stockpiles for signs of infestation.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to DPR regulations, maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Record Keeping: Maintain precise logs of fumigation dates, chemical usage, gas levels, and aeration times.
- Site Prep & Maintenance: Clear areas of debris, set traps, and ensure storage areas are secure.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Licensure: QAC or QAL M Category
- Experience: Previous experience in structural or agricultural fumigation, ideally in food manufacturing or agricultural setting.
- Safety Focus: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, specifically regarding hazardous materials and confined spaces.
- Physical Ability: Ability to work in varied weather conditions, lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.), and work at heights.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work long hours, rotating shifts, and weekends during the high-demand harvest season.
- Technical Aptitude: Understanding of pest biology and fumigant behavior
- Must be able to drive Forklift as needed
