Responsibilities
- Supervise daily front-of-house activities, including greeting guests, managing reservations, and overseeing seating arrangements to optimize flow and customer satisfaction
- Lead, train, and develop staff in food service procedures, customer service excellence, POS system operation (such as Aloha POS or Micros POS), and food handling protocols
- Monitor and control inventory levels for front-of-house supplies, ensuring proper stock management and minimizing waste
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including balancing registers and processing transactions accurately using POS systems
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, health regulations, and sanitation practices across all front-of-house operations
- Manage shift scheduling, coordinate staffing needs during busy periods, and handle customer complaints promptly to maintain high service standards
- Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure seamless communication between front and back of house for food preparation, delivery times, and special requests
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant management with a strong background in food service management and supervising teams in fast-paced environments
- Extensive knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
- Skilled in food preparation oversight, food safety protocols, and inventory control within casual dining or quick service settings
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally and diplomatically
- Strong leadership qualities with experience in staff training, development, interviewing, and performance management
- Familiarity with budgeting, shift management, and food industry regulations to ensure operational efficiency
