Duties
- Prepare fresh ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure timely meal assembly
- Assist in menu planning by organizing ingredients needed for daily specials and standard dishes
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and portioning ingredients accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow during busy service times
- Support catering events and special functions with prep work and food presentation as needed
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation practices
- Proven ability in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Excellent knife skills with precision in chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Experience with menu planning and understanding of culinary techniques
- Familiarity with food service operations including catering and serving environments
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food safety standards
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
