Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Support medication administration under supervision, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory care needs, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, long-term care, skilled, hospice, and behavioral health environments to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Maintain infection control standards through proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document patient observations and assist with medical procedures in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like POC.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as POC for accurate medical documentation.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support patient assessments and care plans effectively.
- Experience in various healthcare settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, or outpatient clinics.
- Ability to perform catheter care, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique and infectious disease care protocols.
