What are the responsibilities and job description for the Print Production Graphic Designer (Screen Printing & Embroidery) position at Miami Mixed Media?
We’re looking for our next team member to join the MMM Team
Position: Print Production Graphic Designer (Screen Printing & Embroidery)
A little bit about us
We’re Miami Mixed Media, a creative production company proudly rooted in Miami’s Little River business district. For over 10 years, we’ve built a reputation as one of the city’s most innovative screen printing and embroidery houses—partnering with brands, artists, and businesses to bring ideas to life at production scale.
At MMM, we don’t just design—we manufacture.
We specialize in pushing the limits of screen printing through advanced color separations, specialty inks, texture-driven techniques, and constant process refinement. Our capabilities also include embroidery, DTF, and live event activations where art meets real-time production.
If you love seeing your artwork come off press or out of a machine exactly as intended, you’ll feel at home here.
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Print Production Graphic Designer who understands how artwork translates into screen printing and embroidery—not just how it looks on a screen.
This is a hybrid creative production role, ideal for someone who:
- Understands color separations
- Designs with ink counts, underbases, traps, and stitch limitations in mind
- Wants to be close to the production floor, not separated from it
You’ll work directly with our creative, screen printing, and embroidery teams to ensure artwork is press-ready, stitch-ready, and production-efficient.
What You’ll Be Doing
Screen Printing & Embroidery Artwork
- Create and prep artwork specifically for screen printing, embroidery, and DTF
- Build and adjust color separations (spot colors, simulated process, underbases, traps)
- Prepare files with real production constraints in mind (ink limits, mesh counts, registration)
- Review and proof files for:
- Correct sizing & placement
- Clean separations
- Embroidery readiness (DST/EMB expectations, stitch logic)
- Collaborate with production to solve artwork issues before they hit press or machines
Production & Operations Support
- Assist with mockups, client approvals, and revision workflows
- Maintain organized digital file systems tied to real production jobs
- Track and support production schedules using Excel / Google Sheets
- Help management with order coordination, reporting, and workflow improvements
Who We’re Looking For (This Is Important)
- 1–3 years experience in print production, screen printing, or embroidery artwork
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop a plus)
- Real understanding of how color separations work in screen printing
- Familiarity with embroidery artwork requirements (even if not digitizing yourself)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
- Communicates clearly with designers, printers, and operators
If you’ve only done branding, social media, or marketing design—and haven’t prepped files for production—this role will not be the right fit.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Printavo or similar production software
- Familiarity with screen printing presses or embroidery machines (Barudan, Tajima, Brother)
- Understanding of production timelines, approvals, and workflow bottlenecks
- Prior experience working inside a print shop or embroidery facility
Growth Opportunity
This role has a clear path forward.
For the right person, growth opportunities include:
- Production Analyst
- Creative Operations
- Senior Production Artist
We reward people who understand the process end-to-end and take ownership.
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive salary (based on experience)
- Paid vacation & sick days
- Holiday pay
- Company card for work-related expenses
- 401k with matching contributions
- Team events & company merch
- Pet-friendly environment with Cha Cha & Pelusa
