What are the responsibilities and job description for the Command Center Operator position at Miami Marlins?
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, Command Center Operators are responsible for providing 24/7 monitoring and support of the following systems at loanDepot park: Building Automation System (BAS), Fire Alarm System, Lighting Control System, Facility HelpDesk System, and the Smoke Control Panel. In addition to systems monitoring and support, command center operators receive and respond to calls from Ballpark staff regarding temperature, lighting, and other service requests.
Essential Functions:
Under general supervision, Command Center Operators are responsible for providing 24/7 monitoring and support of the following systems at loanDepot park: Building Automation System (BAS), Fire Alarm System, Lighting Control System, Facility HelpDesk System, and the Smoke Control Panel. In addition to systems monitoring and support, command center operators receive and respond to calls from Ballpark staff regarding temperature, lighting, and other service requests.
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with Ballpark Staff and Contractors;
- Provide information and assistance to calling parties concerning general assistance needs, emergency needs and security as appropriate;
- Process service requests through Facility HelpDesk system. Assign, update, and closeout as work is performed and ensure requests are addressed in a timely manner;
- Follow procedures in dispatching personnel for emergency and non-emergency situations;
- Log subcontractor arrivals and departures. Assign escorts and/or keys as appropriate and ensure that the facilities team is aware of the work to be performed during the subcontractor’s visit;
- Log all activity/changes/adjustments to systems (primarily related to BAS and Lighting Control Systems) to ensure that future shifts understand actions taken and status of systems;
- Report on systems status at the end of each shift to Senior Manager, Command Center & Director, Facilities;
- Take actions to always minimize energy waste within the ballpark, including surveying the ballpark HVAC and
- Lighting to ensure equipment is not running outside of scheduled times.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7/365 coverage as necessary;
- Excellent customer service skills. Ability to interface with occupants at all administrative levels;
- Team player committed to working in a quality-based environment, especially in close relationship with other facilities and operations staff;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Proactive, organized and detail oriented person who can follow through with minimal supervision;
- Must show good judgment and common sense;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function well during a critical or emergency incident;
- Fluently bilingual English / Spanish a plus;
- Proficient in the use of computers and related software – Word, Excel & Power Point.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
- High school diploma required;
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn in-house systems required;
- Experience with monitoring multiple critical systems.
