Position Summary
The Bilingual Coaching and Player Education Specialist position supports our mission of becoming a fully bilingual organization. This role is responsible for teaching coaches and players across the organization and is key in driving meaningful change and supporting continuous improvement in coach and player education programs that aim to improve cross-cultural communication and the development of players from diverse backgrounds.

Essential Functions
• Language Instruction and Curriculum Development
     o Develop and teach relevant & effective language lessons for coaches/players to improve L2 proficiency
     o Conduct small group or 1-1 sessions to address specific needs
     o Contribute to the ongoing development of classroom resources and bilingual resources for coaches and players
• Translation and In-Session Support and Interpretation
     o Translate documents and presentations, ensuring terminology is accurate
     o Facilitate cross-linguistic communication in baseball education sessions, during whole group coaching sessions and 1-1           player meetings
     o Translate/clarify as needed; enhance player engagement and learning through comprehension checks
• Evaluation and Feedback
     o Monitor coaches' and players’ language progress throughout the season
     o Assist in developing formative assessments to continuously improve curriculum and instruction
• Cultural Awareness and Competence
     o Educate coaches on cultural differences and nuances in communication
     o Assist in cultural competence training and support an inclusive environment
• Community Service
    o Participate in community service activities and help organizing different events.
    o Teach players social responsibility and leadership skills by guiding them on how to interact meaningfully with the community and diverse audiences

Skill Requirements
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish with strong verbal and written skills
• Understanding of cultural diversity and cross-cultural communication
• Demonstrated pedagogical skills in language instruction
• Strong ability to build rapport and provide and receive constructive feedback
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Familiarity with baseball and some knowledge of player development
• Skilled using digital tools for language instruction and communication
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance sports environment.

Education & Experience Guidelines
• Bachelor’s degree in education with teacher certification preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching English to speakers of other languages
• Previous experience working directly with athletes in a team setting preferred

Work Environment
• Availability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and game days.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure sports environment.
