The Miami Marlins Minor League Performance Dietitian will assist the Director of Nutrition in optimizing nutrition support for our athletes through our core values of innovation, thinking 3 years ahead, and being a good teammate. This role will place a large emphasis on nutrition education through multiple platforms and methods including presentations, digital communication, and one-on-one consultations. In addition to nutrition education, this role will help with affiliate catering, body composition and sweat testing, medical nutrition therapy, practice and competition fueling, and ensuring department and organizational standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

February through October (In-Season):

• Individualized Nutrition Support: Design and implement personalized nutrition plans tailored to player goals and performance requirements.
• Nutrition Education: Provide consistent, practical nutrition education focused on fueling, recovery, hydration, and performance through individual consultations, team presentations, digital communication, and day-to-day interactions with athletes.
• Team Support & Integration: Maintain a consistent presence within the team environment by attending training sessions, practices, games, meals, and other team activities to provide timely and integrated nutrition support.
• Food Service Management: Coordinate the planning, ordering, and execution of team meals. Collaborate with clubhouse personnel, vendors, and other staff to ensure meals are ordered accurately, delivered on schedule, and aligned with established nutrition, food quality, and food safety standards.
• Budget Management: Support the Director of Nutrition with monitoring nutrition-related expenses while identifying opportunities to maximize resources while maintaining appropriate nutrition standards.
  
  

November Through January (Off-Season)

• Off-Season Nutrition Plans: Develop and implement individualized off-season nutrition programs designed to support recovery, improve nutritional habits and body composition, and prepare for the upcoming season.
• Communication & Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with players, coaches, and performance staff to ensure alignment and execution of nutrition goals.
• Off-Season Camp Participation: Participate in and support the organization's off-season instructional camps to continue player development and professional growth.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Dietitian (RD) Required (RD-Eligible may be considered on a case-by-case basis).
• Experience: Minimum of one year within a professional, private, or collegiate sports nutrition program.
• Specialized Certification: Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred.
• Language Skills: Spanish-speaking preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva, PowerPoint, and AI platforms.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, record-keeping, and organizational abilities.
• Location/Travel: This position is based in Jupiter, FL. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Flexibility: Ability to work long, non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
