Role Description
The Air Ocean Ops Docs Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for overseeing and managing documentation processes related to air and ocean freight operations. Key tasks include handling shipment documentation, coordinating logistics, managing customer inquiries, providing operational support, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. This is an on-site role located in Piscataway, NJ.
The Air & Ocean Export Specialist will assist in a fast-paced work environment. He/she will take on different aspects of various duties to ensure smooth documentation, departure and release of cargo. These duties include:
- Arrange booking with Ocean & Air Carriers
- Send booking confirmations to customers
- Arrange inland trucking, prepare dock receipt etc. for inland operation
- Prepare documentation for seaport/airport and US Customs
- Submit SLIs, track, communicate with customer.
- Receive and Provide required documents from and to customers.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving in operation & Documentation
- AES (automated export system) data-entry and reporting
- B/L preparation
- Interfacing with Air & Ocean carriers,, overseas agents, internal departments, regulatory bodies and others
Qualifications
3 years of experience in the freight and shipping industry
- College degree preferred, but not required
- Motivated quick learner / self-starter who can work under minimal supervision
- Ability to identify, analyze and quickly resolve problems
- Ability to plan ahead and achieve results in a multi-tasking environment
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
