The incumbent in this position will be responsible for overseeing and operating a children's department in a public library to include programming, planning, promoting, and implementing children's activities. This position will be tasked with analyzing collection development needs and selecting appropriate library materials, planning and preparing for displays and exhibits, assisting in the bibliographic maintenance of the library database, assisting children with book choices, answering questions from teachers and parents, providing reader's advisory services, and serving as the library branch supervisor in the manager's absence.
