Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Must possess a Driver license. Must maintain a safe driving record and be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Recruitment Notes
This position will be responsible for acting as a courier which requires operating a passenger vehicle, van truck or similar vehicles. This position will require the incumbent to deliver and pick up mail, packages, records, materials, equipment, documents, and other supplies going to/from Miami-Dade Fire headquarters, fire stations, vendor locations and downtown. This position entails performing routine clerical tasks to include alphabetizing, sorting, filing materials and answering the telephone in accordance with standard procedures. This position will be tasked with performing minor routine maintenance and service to vehicles including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and fuel levels; cleans interior of vehicle on a regular basis. Additionally, incumbent(s) will be tasked with monitoring mileage, vehicle performance, and scheduling preventative maintenance as needed. This position will entail the use of physical strength and agility, and at times may be exposed to heat and/or rain.
