Social Studies Teacher- High School

Miami Arts Charter School is seeking a Social Studies teacher to join our team. Our school is preparing for a very successful 2026-2027 school year, and we are seeking a talented and motivated educator who wishes to share their knowledge of teaching high school social studies.

Miami Arts Charter School has been operating since 2009 in Miami's exciting Wynwood Arts District. Students are admitted through an application and audition process in the performing and fine arts. We do not have a random lottery selection process.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and educate students in a classroom setting
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
• Adhere to the established teaching curriculum
• Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
• Document and share student grades and evaluations
• Maintain the health and safety of all students

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields is preferred but not absolutely required
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to build rapport with students
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership qualities
• State of Florida Teaching Certificate (Professional or Temporary) or Statement of Eligibility. Qualified candidates who have not yet applied for a Florida teaching certificate but are eligible to do so may be hired as a temporary substitute while the certification process is underway

Starting Pay: $55,000
