We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Line Cook to join our culinary team at Courtyard Coconut Grove. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation. Whether supporting breakfast service, evening dining, room service, or special events, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for travelers, cruise guests, and visitors alike.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up, stock, and maintain assigned workstations for efficient service.
- Ensure food quality, freshness, and consistency throughout each shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Properly receive, store, label, and rotate food products to maintain quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.
- Assist with banquet, catering, and special event food preparation as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service team to ensure timely food delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or ordering needs.
- Support daily kitchen operations and contribute to a positive work environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Cook in a hotel, restaurant preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen operations.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and special events.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Food Handler Certification or ServSafe Certification is a plus.
- A positive attitude and commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
