Duties
- Operate backhoes with precision to perform excavation, trenching, loading, and material handling tasks across various construction sites
- Use auxiliary attachments such as dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, and horizontal drilling equipment to support project needs
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy machinery including equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working around other heavy machinery like excavators and loaders to prevent accidents
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and project progress reports
- Collaborate with team members to execute plans efficiently while adhering to project timelines and safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating backhoes in a construction environment with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge of construction machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, and horizontal drilling equipment
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on heavy machinery troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction site protocols
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
