About the Role
We are seeking experienced talent to join our Tax Department. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of clients across industries, and mentor junior staff while developing expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee tax compliance and planning for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tax laws.
- Analyze complex tax matters, identifying key insights and strategic recommendations for clients.
- Manage multiple client engagements, meeting deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Stay current with evolving tax regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements impacting tax compliance and advisory services.
- Effectively communicate with clients and internal teams to provide guidance, resolve tax-related issues, and ensure a seamless engagement process.
Skills & Competencies
- Prior supervisory experience in tax engagements, leading teams, and managing workflow.
- Strong ability to coach, mentor, and develop tax professionals.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively while maintaining oversight of tax engagements.
- Proficiency in explaining complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration.
- Relationship-building skills to foster long-term client connections and internal team development.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and quality assurance.
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with tax software applications (e.g., CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or similar).
- Experience with tax research tools and the ability to interpret IRS codes, regulations, and rulings.
- Familiarity with tax planning strategies for individuals, corporations, and pass-through entities.
- Understanding of emerging technologies in tax automation and compliance.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Licensed CPA (or in the process of obtaining)
- Four years of audit experience in public accounting
- Proficiency in using accounting/audit software applications and Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with remote communication technologies (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- Occasional travel to client sites as required

Compensation
At M|H, compensation is designed to reflect an individual’s experience, qualifications, and market conditions within their role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns) for this position takes multiple factors into account, including education, relevant skills, work experience, certifications, and location. As a result, the final offer for the selected candidate(s) may fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $75,000 - 85,000
This position is bonus eligible.
