Outside Sales/Project Manager 

We are seeking a motivated Outside Sales Person who enjoys building relationships, developing new opportunities, and seeing projects through from idea to reality. 

This role works directly with custom home builders, remodelers, contractors, designers, and homeowners to guide stone selections and secure new projects while representing one of Utah’s only luxury stone fabricators. 

This is a relationship-driven, performance-based role where top performers can increase their earnings through an uncapped commission program tied directly to sales results. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop relationships with custom builders, contractors, designers, and homeowners. 
  • Perform market research to find new customers. 
  • Analyze the market’s potential and work with leadership to develop a strong sales strategy. 
  • Conduct showroom consultations and assist customers with stone selections. 
  • Visit builders and job sites to develop new opportunities. 
  • Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor offerings. 
  • Guide customers through material selections and design options. 
  • Gather project information, prepare estimates, and work with the operations team to execute and exceed customer expectations. 
  • Present proposals, secure signed contracts and collect deposits. 
  • Review and approve suggested changes by either customers or vendors and coordinate appropriate updates to scheduling and other timeline activities  
  • Be the single point of contact throughout the sales process and through the life of the project. Ensure communication with customers is constant and consistent. 
  • Proactively monitor progress of overall construction activities. 
  • Represent MGS by Design professionally within the community. 

 

 Qualifications 

 

  • Previous sales experience required preferably in the stone industry. Backgrounds for home improvement, design, custom construction and luxury home building will also be considered. 
  • Ability to manage a project from start to completion. 
  • Customer service oriented with excellent leadership and negotiation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of the organization 
  • Team player with the aptitude for multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and building relationships with team members, vendors and customers. 
  • Professional, outgoing, and results-driven personality. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to guide customers through design decisions. 
  • Experience in the stone industry, preferably with a stone fabricator or supplier. 
  • Knowledge of the Utah luxury home market. 
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented. 
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude. 


Experience in stone fabrication, tile, countertops, cabinetry, remodeling, or construction sales is helpful but not required.
