What are the responsibilities and job description for the Locksmith Apprentice - Union - Borgata position at MGM Resorts International?
The Locksmith apprentice works under the supervision of a journeyman locksmith, job duties and requirements are as follows:
- Perform maintenance on gaming equipment locks as well as repair doors and frames, electronic, manual, or revolving, and repairs safes
- Preforms work on gaming table locks, slot machine locks, and/or anything pertaining to lock maintenance
- Performs preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance on building’s lock systems
- Maintains key control system, equipment and materials as required by the Lock Control Committee procedures
- Reports all conditions contrary to good security practice to include authorized key duplication solicitation
- Performs other related carpentry duties as assigned
- Ensures that all work is completed and of superior craftsmanship
- Removes debris caused by work completed
- Maintains proper care and storage of tools and equipment
- Works closely with Lead to coordinate an efficient and safe work environment
- Promotes positive customer relations for all customers by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service
- Responsible for maintaining accurate property information through daily use of talent portal, email and other forms of communication
- High degrees of mobility to enable person to respond to any type of emergency situation of service call
- Ability to effectively communicate by way of 2-way radio and use the computerized work order system
- Physical ability and skill to use normal tools and equipment associated with the trade
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts/hours
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must successfully complete the Carpenter Union Apprentice Program and obtain all associated certifications as required.
