We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. MGC offers a dynamic workplace and long-term career opportunities for candidates motivated to achieve excellence. Candidates with an Associates degree and at least one year of accounting/bookkeeping experience are encouraged to apply. This position will be based out of our Columbia, SC office and is eligible for a remote work arrangement after the training period (will train in-office for the first week or two). Preferred candidates will be based in North or South Carolina. Competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Handle accounting/bookkeeping duties: to include banking, general ledger bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and analysis
- Research, track, and resolve accounting problems
- Approve ACH and Positive Pay Exceptions
- Reconcile bank accounts
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in Business or Accounting preferred
- Basic understanding of Bank Reconciliations, Debits and Credits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and bookkeeping principles
