About the Role
Join the team that manufactures and maintains the iconic uniforms worn by cadets at the United States Military Academy at West Point. As a Tailor Professional, you will operate the Gerber AccuMark CAD-CAM and GTxL automated cutting system, make Made-to-Measure decisions, perform final fittings, and provide technical guidance to the production team.
What You'll Do
- Operate Gerber AccuMark CAD-CAM software and GTxL automated cutting system
- Cut standard and non-standard component parts of the USMA cadet uniform, including replacement components for damaged garments
- Perform final fittings of tailored cadet uniforms
- Determine whether stock garment modification or creation of a Made-to-Measure garment is the most effective approach
- Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-graded operators
What You Bring
- 5 years of tailoring / fabric cutting experience with supervisory or lead capability
- Experience with Gerber AccuMark (or comparable CAD pattern/cutting systems) strongly preferred
- Expert garment construction, fitting, and alteration skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older (U.S. Government contract requirement)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Reliable transportation to West Point, NY
What We Offer
- Full-time, 40 hours/week guaranteed minimum, Monday–Friday day shift – no nights, no weekends
- Paid federal holidays and vacation per Service Contract Act requirements
- All PPE and equipment provided
- Anticipated start: August 2026; position runs through September 2026 with option periods extending to May 2027
