Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and certified Certified Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance across the apartment community, completing work orders, and preparing vacant units for new residents. The ideal candidate will be certified in HVAC or another relevant trade and experienced in all aspects of apartment maintenance and unit turnovers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on apartments, common areas, and property grounds.
  • Complete “make-ready” tasks to prepare vacant units for new tenants — including painting, cleaning, fixture replacements, and minor repairs.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance systems as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from residents and management.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and code standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, materials used, and unit readiness status.
  • Assist with emergency maintenance calls and participate in an on-call rotation if required.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance areas clean and organized.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • HVAC, EPA, or other maintenance-related certification required (Type I & II or Universal preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in apartment or facilities maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently and safely.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks as needed.
