Reports to: Customer Service Manager
Purpose of the Position: MFP is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Order Entry Specialist to join our dynamic Customer service team. This role will focus primarily on accurate and timely entry of customer orders, including support for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, comfort with navigating business software, and a solid understanding of distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter customer purchase orders into ERP and order management systems with speed and accuracy
- Assist with EDI order processing, troubleshooting transmission issues, and ensuring data integrity
- Review incoming orders for completeness, pricing accuracy, and product availability
- Collaborate with customer service reps to resolve order discrepancies or missing information
- Maintain organized records of order confirmations, changes, and cancellations
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, sales, accounting) to ensure smooth order flow
- Support continuous improvement of order entry processes and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in order entry, data entry, or customer service within a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with EDI systems and basic troubleshooting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/order management software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Associate degree or business coursework preferred
