My client is a $3 trillion global pension fund currently expanding their presence in New York, NY.
This role is part of the private equity portfolio monitoring team which is responsible for the fund’s data management and data governance. The Senior Analyst, Investment Data will be responsible for implementing solutions related to collecting, interpreting, and presenting key financial and operational data, data mastering and data quality on various data/investment management platforms, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of data to the private equity investment department, as well as operationalizing data governance policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners and other stakeholders to ensure the completeness and accuracy of business requirements, data models, source-to-target mappings, and data quality control definitions
- Responsible for data collection and management
- Responsible for reporting and Visualization
- Responsible for tracking key performance indicators
- Develop and configure data platform components in alignment with business needs
- Experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to investment and portfolio data, including predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and scenario analysis.
- Ability to design and implement scalable data pipelines, automate data ingestion and transformation, and deploy analytics solutions in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Expertise in advanced data visualization (e.g., interactive dashboards, analytics) and the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business narratives for senior stakeholders.
- Experience sourcing, integrating, and analyzing alternative and unstructured data (e.g., news, social media, ESG, operational data) to enhance investment insights.
- Responsible for providing accurate data and investment insights for investment decision making utilising internal and external data sources.
- Identify, investigate and resolve data exceptions and data quality issues on a timely basis
Key Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science (data analysis), Applied Maths or Finance.
- 3-5 years’ experience as data analyst within an asset owner / investment management organization within their data operations capability
- Proficiency in Python, APIs and SQL, data visualization
- Proficiency in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools
- Certification in Python, Power BI
- Knowledge of private equity / GP /LP data
- Good understanding of data management functions and usage of investment data in various forms
- Capable to contribute to solving complex problems in a team setting
- Knowledge of financial data providers/source qualities. Experience navigating market data platforms for data sampling and review
- Ability to guide teams through complex financial data structures
- Proficient in using tools and methodologies to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and security, aligning with Data Governance best practices.
Salary : $170,000 - $240,000
