Responsible for managing daily production functions, including daily shop operations, workflow, personnel, safety, quality, productivity, and customer commitments. This position’s primary duty is management of production operations and employees and exercising discretion and independent judgement in support of staffing, performance, discipline, and other employment related decisions. This role works closely with key stakeholders, and customers as needed to support operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Occasional hands-on work may be performed to support training, safety, troubleshooting, or business needs; however, the primary focus of the role is supervision, operational leadership, and management of production results.

Salary: $77,000 - $ 85,000 | DOE

Primary Duties:

  • Manage daily production operations, including shop workflow, project priorities, labor allocation, safety, quality, productivity, and on-time completion of customer commitments.
  • Directly supervise production employees, including assigning and directing daily work, monitoring performance, coaching, addressing productivity concerns, and ensuring accountability for results.
  • Lead daily production planning meetings in coordination with stakeholders and other appropriate teams to plan workload, resolve constraints, and align resources for shop and field projects.
  • Evaluate staffing needs and participate in the hiring, selection, promotion, management, discipline, termination, and compensation-related decisions.
  • Train, coach, develop, and evaluate production employees,
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback, documentation, and corrective guidance in partnership with the Branch Manager and HR as appropriate.
  • Ensure all procedures (including production, maintenance, quality, and warehouse), processes, safety requirements, and quality programs are followed and that work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both existing processes and equipment, as well as the development of SOPs for new product lines.
  • Partner with the Branch Manager and Quality to determine efficient and profitable approach to completing projects while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Partner with appropriate departments and personnel, including Engineering, Sales and Technology Managers, and customers, to support project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to customer issues and requests, coordinating resolution with internal teams as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes, labor utilization, equipment readiness, safety performance, quality outcomes, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate service and maintenance of production equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Complete required paperwork and reporting in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Complete forklift and safety orientation courses may occasionally operate a forklift or assist with production-related tasks to support training, safety, troubleshooting, or urgent operational needs.
  • Conduct safety training as directed by the MFCP Safety Director and/or Quality Manager.
  • Maintain and enforce a safe, clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Comply with and enforce all company rules, safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Education & Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production, shop, manufacturing, service operations, or related experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, assign and prioritize work, manage performance, coach employees, resolve employee issues, and support employment-related recommendations, minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, in accordance with company guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with employees, customers, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with or willingness to learn Epicor Prophet 21 is a plus.
  • Extensive mechanical background is essential.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily in a production, assembly, and testing environment with exposure to hydraulic equipment, production tools, test stands, shop noise, moving equipment, and pressurized systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, crouch, kneel, and use hands and arms for extended periods while performing assembly, testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and production support activities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 70 pounds, with assistance or mechanical lifting devices as appropriate.
  • Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, computers, and standard office equipment.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to all safety procedures is required.
  • Regular and reliable in office attendance is required.
