MFA Program Management is seeking a part-time Program Management Intern to support our Project Executive on the development of the new Macon-Bibb County Multipurpose Arena, a major semi-professional hockey and entertainment venue currently in design and construction.
This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world project management in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. The intern will assist with day-to-day activities that keep a large capital project moving, including:
- Attending and assisting with in-person meetings, site visits, and stakeholder check-ins
- Supporting preparation for presentations, workshops, and project coordination sessions
- Taking meeting minutes, tracking action items, and helping maintain project documentation
- Running errands as needed for project support (printing, deliveries, materials pick-ups, etc.)
- Assisting with schedule updates, task tracking, and basic project organization
- Helping ensure clear communication between the Project Executive, designers, contractors, and County partners
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be in their junior or senior year of college, pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an interest in large-scale development or public-sector capital projects are highly valued.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a program related to Program Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or another relevant field
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track details, follow tasks through, and maintain accurate documentation
- Professional communication skills—written, verbal, and in-person
- Ability to attend in-person meetings and occasional site visits in Macon-Bibb County
- Comfortable running project-related errands as needed (printing, pickup/drop-off, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management or design software is a plus
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work well both independently and alongside the Project Executive
- Interest in construction, real estate development, or public-sector capital projects
- Valid Driver’s License – since they may run errands, attend site visits, or transport materials
- Professionalism Client-Facing Comfort – ability to be around County leaders, architects, contractors, and consultants in a professional manner.
- Ability to Handle Confidential Information – important for budgets, contracts, and internal discussions
- Dependability Punctuality – must reliably show up willing to help for in-person meetings and assistance of the Project Executive.
