We are seeking an experienced Plant Diagnostics Project Engineer to support customer success management (CSM) for software users, lead and execute software implementation projects for new users, and provide technical support to business development activities.

In the CSM role, the engineer will work with existing software users to achieve their goal and troubleshoot any issues on thermal performance and anomaly detection goals.

In the project management and execution role, the engineer will be trained on Metroscope modeling workflows to support model development for new customers as well as model maintenance for existing customers and occasional research and development tasks. Within the first 1-2 years, the engineer will also develop project management skills in Metroscope deployments and interface customers in projects developed by teams of engineers.

In the business development role, the engineer will support sales activities through participation in meetings, both remotely and in person. Support will also be needed in preparing successful proposals and costing/planning project plans.

This job is instrumental in project delivery, driving revenue, identifying new business opportunities, and building strong customer relationships on a small team with growing North American work.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of plant systems, components, the energy sector, and power generation technologies. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to drive project customer interface and direct operations work products including training, equipment root cause, and statistical or first-principles models. They will play a strategic role in expanding Metroscopeโ€™s footprint, working closely with customer success, operations, marketing, and product global teams to ensure consistent application of methods and seamless client engagement.

Missions

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Success Management:
  • Primary objective is to ensure that existing customers achieve measurable operational value from Metroscope and continue to expand their use of the platform.
  • Day-to-day, you will act as the technical lead and trusted advisor for a portfolio of power plant customers by:
  • Serving as the main point of contact for customers after deployment.
  • Supporting operations, maintenance, performance, and engineering teams in their day-to-day use of Metroscope.
  • Helping customers translate software insights into operational actions and performance improvements.
  • Monitoring customer engagement and ensuring that Metroscope is actively used by the right stakeholders.
  • Identifying and resolving technical, organizational, process, or IT-related barriers that may limit adoption.
  • Organizing and delivering user training sessions for new and existing users.
  • Leading periodic business reviews to demonstrate the value generated through Metroscope.
  • Project Engineering:
  • Develop physical and anomaly detection models for new power plants (full training to be provided), mapping tags and systems from P&IDs.
  • Execute research tasks.
  • Manage scope, schedule, delivery, quality, and customer interface for diagnostics implementation projects.
  • Interface with modeling performers and reviewers and solve implementation challenges.
  • Supervise and conduct all customer facing interaction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and Customer Success to maintain alignment.
  • Support sales outreach at conferences and industry meetings.
  • Support proposal content and reviews.
  • Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and market activities to refine delivery strategies.
  • Gather customer insights and provide feedback to internal teams to influence product and marketing strategies.

Preferred Experience

  • Systems and/or component engineering experience with a focus on asset management and maintenance at combined cycle or nuclear plants - 5 years preferred
  • Project engineering experience managing medium-term software or technical projects focused on engineering quality and delivery
  • Monitoring and Diagnostics domain experience either as a user or vendor
  • Customer success or technical account management experience including training, user support, and periodic value analysis preferred
  • Sales experience is a plus
  • Modeling and/or coding experience
  • Ability to engage all levels of the organization including engineers, procurement, managers and C-level executives.

Skills & Mindset:

  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Solid thermohydraulic modeling understanding
  • Data analysis basics, with capacity to use common tools (Python, Excel, Codex, etc)
  • Soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building are paramount:

Languages & Education:

  • Fluent in English (mandatory)
  • Spanish is a strong plus - will highly favor candidates with Spanish fluency for due to immediate projects
  • Bachelors in Engineering or related technical field required
  • Masters or higher education is a plus

Travel

  • โœˆ๏ธ Less than 20% continental regional travel for customer meetings or industry events
  • Overseas travel - Once per year or less
