The Lease-Up Support Specialist provides centralized, short-term, and project-based support to new construction and lease-up communities. This role partners closely with onsite property teams, construction, marketing, and operations to ensure a successful lease-up process from pre-leasing through stabilization. The Specialist serves as a subject-matter resource, helping standardize processes, maintain timelines, and alleviate staffing gaps during critical phases of new community openings.
This position is primarily corporate-based and may involve intermittent travel to assist onsite teams as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lease-Up & Operational Support
- Provide temporary leasing and operational support to new communities during pre-lease, grand opening, and initial occupancy phases
- Assist onsite teams with lease-up readiness, including office setup, system access, and compliance documentation
- Support leasing efforts as needed, including application processing, lease preparation, and move-in coordination
- Monitor daily and weekly lease-up activity to help identify risks, gaps, or opportunities for improvement
Systems & Process Coordination
- Assist with setup and maintenance of property management systems, resident portals, and marketing platforms
- Support training and onboarding for new onsite staff related to lease-up procedures, expectations, and reporting
- Ensure consistency with company standards, fair housing requirements, and internal policies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between onsite property teams and corporate departments (Operations, Marketing, Accounting, Construction, IT)
- Support delivery of marketing assets, unit availability updates, and promotional rollouts during lease-up
- Partner with Regional and Corporate leadership to execute lease-up strategies and meet occupancy goals
Reporting & Documentation
- Track lease-up benchmarks, occupancy progress, and unit readiness milestones
- Assist with compiling reports related to leasing activity, traffic, and conversion metrics
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements for future lease-ups
Required
- 2 years of experience in multifamily leasing, property management, or lease-up environments
- Strong understanding of lease-up workflows, pre-leasing, and new construction property transitions
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills with both onsite and corporate teams
- Working knowledge of property management software (Yardi, RealPage, or similar)
- Prior experience supporting multiple properties or new developments
- Experience training or onboarding new leasing staff
- Familiarity with marketing systems, CRM tools, and lease-up reporting metrics
- Highly adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
