This posting is for Community Outreach/Communications Manager, a full-time Non-Civil Service position in the Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office. The Office of the Juvenile Court Clerk is the official Keeper of Records for the Davidson County Juvenile Court and the anchor entity for a collective impact initiative called the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Nashville. It is the mission of the Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office to provide courteous, innovative, and professional service to the public, and all stakeholders navigating the experience of justice. The MBK Nashville seeks to improve social outcomes via systems level change, for boys and young men from marginalized communities by organizing cross sector groups of partners to transform inefficient, fragmented systems.
We are seeking an organized and innovative leader that is 75% focused on community outreach to meet the MBK Nashville’s cradle to career milestones in Davidson County. The Manager role is also responsible for developing and implementing an external communications strategy for the partnership with the ultimate purpose of significantly increasing MBK Nashville’s presence in the community and more deeply engaging community leaders in the Partnership with joy and excellence. The ideal is anticipatory thinking, has strong organizational discipline, and the ability to manage both details and big-picture goals. This role requires extensive community engagement and cross-sector coordination. The Manager must exercise agility and grace during shifting priorities, adjust plans quickly, and communicate updates clearly and professionally. Given the public-facing nature of this position, exceptional communication skills, verbal, written, and digital are essential to success in this position. The Manager should be able to speak confidently with partners, draft clear and polished written materials, and navigate social media and digital platforms with ease while differentiating messages for diverse audiences. This role also requires authentic relationship-building across sectors. The Manager must naturally build rapport, maintain trust through consistent follow-up, and represent MBK Nashville with professionalism, warmth, joy and integrity. Successful candidates will demonstrate core competencies such as synergistic leadership, project coordination, event or logistics experience, customer service strengths, strong writing ability, and comfort managing multiple moving parts in fast-paced environments.
Communication:
Associate's Degree and two (2) years of project management, communication and/or relationship development experience.

- Community Outreach:
- Establishes and builds relationships across the county as a representative of MBK Nashville. This includes Community Based Organizations, Education Sector, Business, Funders and Grassroots Communities.
- Increases engagement of key community leaders in the goals of MBK Nashville.
- Works closely with the Director to implement the Advocacy/Policy Agenda
- Schedules and delivers community presentations with specific goals, such as securing financial support or joining the Initiative
- Develops partnerships with key community organizations in service of MBK Nashville’s cradle to career outcomes.
- Leads on creating/editing website content; regularly maintain website and social media platforms
- Assures external communication is compelling, consistent and clear.
- Provides regular reviews and updates.
- Develops all content and materials used with external audiences, including reports, monthly newsletters, press releases, fundraising materials, and other publications
- Cultivates, expands, and maintains Davidson County media contacts
- Partners with data partners to ensure data are leveraged to clearly share the MBK Nashville story
- Preps Director or other spokesperson for media appearances
- Develops training to ensure all staff communication is consistent and aligned with strategic messaging.
- Knowledge in all Social Media platforms is highly desirable
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrable experience in equity work and/or working with marginalized communities
- Experience mobilizing volunteers and/or people who do not report to you
- Previous experience working or volunteering in collective impact organizations, nonprofits, or an educational setting
- Heavy experience in designing communication strategies, as well as writing, and digital marketing in the education space
- Previous experience in marketing and communications management including specifically in social media
- Graphic design skills
- Experience working or living in Davidson County
- Bilingual
