We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and Accounting Specialist to manage our payroll processes and support our accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including experience with payroll management systems and accounting software, to ensure accurate financial operations and compliance across the organization.
Duties
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Paycor, ensuring timely wage disbursements.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and receivable, utilizing accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft.
- Perform data entry tasks related to payroll, benefits administration, and financial transactions with precision.
- Prepare journal entries, conduct account reconciliations, and perform double-entry bookkeeping to ensure financial accuracy.
- Support benefits administration activities, including tracking employee benefits and processing related transactions.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements, including tax filings and compliance reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities, providing insights for management decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Kronos.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, debits & credits, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Ceridian, or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in data entry, account reconciliation, and bookkeeping within a corporate or non-profit setting.
- Knowledge of benefits administration processes and governmental reporting requirements.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail in financial data management.
