Busy full service Ophthalmology office seeks experienced full time Patient Service Representative for our Uptown and University locations.
Responsibilities
Essential duties include:
- Collect patient information necessary for office visit including demographics, medical/vision insurance information and enter in Practice Management system.
- Answer busy phone and triage calls.
- Manage communication from patients in person and by phone to schedule and/or confirm patient appointments for 6 offices.
- Checking patients in and out.
- Verifying insurance and retrieving authorizations for vision insurances
- Update information in practice management and medical record systems.
- Collecting co-pays and balances
- On occasion there might be a need to travel to one of our other offices for coverage.
Qualifications
- Must have at least one year of medical office experience including EMR and Practice Management systems
- Problem solver with strong multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to function as part of a team
- Bilingual is a plus
