Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Metro Staffing Partners is recruiting an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a direct-hire opportunity with a stable and growing manufacturing organization in Ripon, Wisconsin.
This position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional with hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical systems, PLC controls, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic systems, and industrial machinery. The selected candidate will install, maintain, test, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment while supporting safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical, electronic, and PLC-controlled circuits used in manufacturing machinery.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Install electrical and electronic controls on industrial machines and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, and technical instructions.
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical components.
- Install, inspect, and monitor electrical equipment for hazards, necessary adjustments, repairs, or replacement.
- Lay out, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, wiring, panels, breakers, conduit, equipment, and new electrical services.
- Mount motors, transformers, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components according to diagram specifications.
- Test electrical circuits and equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing instruments.
- Troubleshoot electrical power and water-distribution systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
- Search for replacement parts and equipment information using a computer.
- Enter completed work, repair notes, and maintenance activity into a computerized maintenance management system.
- Provide technical guidance to less-experienced maintenance employees when needed.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by department leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
- At least four years of relevant industrial maintenance or electro-mechanical experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and PLC-controlled equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical power systems, motors, transformers, control panels, breakers, and conduit.
- Basic mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system, or CMMS.
- Ability to use a computer to locate parts, document repairs, and enter maintenance work orders.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a maintenance team.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Stand for extended periods.
- Sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Use hand tools and testing equipment with appropriate manual dexterity.
- Lift at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Safely work around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
