Mold Tech Production Supervisor
This is an overnight shift 10PM- 6:30AM
PURPOSE: The supervisor effectively manages the shift activities in the manufacturing area, ensuring the production of the desired quality and quantity of work. Supervises team members by performing the following duties personally or through the assistance of the production team. Establishes and optimizes molding setup an operation to yield consistent, qualified injection molding production to standard. In addition, we will also optimize molding setup an operation to yield consistent, qualified injection molding products to standard.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of mold manufacturing departments. These include production, assembly, and maintaining robust communication with other departments
• Supervise resources in a manner that supports established budgets for volume, scrap, and labor
• Ensuring high-quality production involves managing a team of press operators and troubleshooting mold issues to optimize molding processes
• Adhere to safety standards within the production line, requiring a deep understanding of injection molding techniques and machinery
• Set up and start up injection molding machines when needed in addition to troubleshooting equipment or tooling issues during production
• Recommend and improve manufacturing processes for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency
Effectively communicate with other departments and between shifts to ensure that no RISKs are associated with lack of communication
• Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to excel in their careers
• Assists, when necessary, with customer service representatives and other company personnel to resolve issues related to scheduling/on-time production
• Drive continuous improvement and recommend ROI projects as needed
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with plastic injection molding (2 years preferred)
• Tool Change and Forklift experience required
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter and able to effectively work without close supervision
• Flexibility and ability to handle and manage change effectively and efficiently
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment
• Employee will stand or walk most of their work hours
• Employee will routinely use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
