What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator / Countertop Fabricator position at Metro Marble & Granite?
Duties:
- Operate and maintain CNC machinery to cut, shape, and finish natural stone and quartz countertops.
- Ensure that the production process meets all safety and quality standards.
- Set up CNC machines, load stone slabs, and program for specific cuts and shapes.
- Inspect and measure the quality of the countertops to ensure accuracy and proper fit.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the machines or material.
- Work closely with other team members to meet project deadlines and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform regular machine maintenance and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a CNC Operator in the granite, quartz, or stone industry is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup.
- Experience with CNC software (e.g., CAD/CAM).
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy stone slabs (up to 75 lbs or more).
