Metro Exhibits is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our Production team in Pine Brook, New Jersey. This hands-on role is responsible for building high-quality custom cabinetry and related components from blueprints, schematics and renderings. The Carpenter will create material cut lists, fabricate and assemble cabinetry, perform laminating and veneering, and build crates and skids for safe transportation.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of carpentry or woodworking experience and is comfortable using table saws, miter saws, routers, hand tools and power tools. Candidates must be able to work safely, maintain quality standards, take ownership of assigned projects and work collaboratively with production leadership and other carpenters. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs.

Education: High School Diploma, Trade school a plus
Field of study: Carpentry
Work Experience: 2 years
Licenses/Certifications Required: None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week with OT and occasional weekends, as needed.
- Ability to read basic building schematics
- Must be able to handle the physicality of the job.
- Must be able to work with Entry level Carpenters and others to train in.
- Effective communication skills.
- Must be able to hold themselves accountable for all aspects of a job and see it through from beginning to end.
- Open to feedback and coaching for improved performance.
Proficient with: 2 years’ experience
- table saw, miter saw and routers
Essential Functions
- Practice safe shop work habits and procedures.
- Ability to produce material cut list.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Fabricate cabinets using standard building practices.
- Ability to laminate and veneer cabinetry.
- Create crates and skids for transportation cabinet.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to:
- Learn to fabricate from blueprints or renderings. Ask questions on how to Fabricate from shop manager or other senior level carpenters.
- Develop proper laminating and veneering techniques.
