Metro Emergency Upfitters LLC, a growing company providing mission-critical communication applications, has an immediate opportunity available for multiple vehicle upfitters, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for installation and maintenance of Public Safety Emergency Vehicle Equipment.
General Purpose of the Position
Responsible for installation and maintenance of Public Safety Emergency Vehicle Equipment, including lighting, sirens, camera systems, radios, and push bumpers.
Key Responsibilities
Preferred
A history of installation of automotive electrical accessories is preferred and will be highly beneficial. The following characteristics are also considered highly beneficial:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S., be able to pass a background check and be located near Oklahoma City, OK. Please note there is no relocation budget for this position.

Responsible for installation and maintenance of Public Safety Emergency Vehicle Equipment, including lighting, sirens, camera systems, radios, and push bumpers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install equipment and accessories, such as emergency lighting, electronic surveillance equipment, communication equipment, storage systems, K9 systems, prisoner transports and prisoner systems
- Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment using electric drills
- Remove seats, carpeting, and interiors of doors and reinstall interior parts
- Diagnose or repair problems with electronic equipment, such as emergency lighting, electronic surveillance equipment, communication equipment and storage systems
- Confer with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions
- Inspect and test electrical or electronic systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions using visual inspections and testing instruments
- Replace and clean electrical or electronic components
- Splice wires and solder connections to fixtures and equipment
- Record results of diagnostic tests
- Perform all job functions in a safe manner
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information clearly and accurately
- Efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Must have a basic set of tools to perform all job functions.
Preferred
A history of installation of automotive electrical accessories is preferred and will be highly beneficial. The following characteristics are also considered highly beneficial:
- Direct knowledge/experience with 12-volt systems
- Experience with soldering, wire routing and relays
- Basic understanding of electrical theory and low voltage
- EVT/MECP certifications
- ASE certification (with experience)
