Metro Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Recovery Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing charged-off accounts and working directly with members to achieve full repayment or reach equitable settlement agreements. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering member-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct negotiations with members to secure repayment of charged-off accounts, aiming for full recovery or satisfactory settlement.
- Recommend accounts for litigation when appropriate, ensuring timely action to avoid statute limitations and maximize recovery.
- Monitor internal collection accounts, queues, and dashboards weekly to track performance and escalate non-performing accounts to management.
- Utilize skip tracing and asset search tools to locate members and identify assets that support recovery efforts.
- Assess member eligibility for specialized Recovery products and present appropriate solutions.
- Review and analyze assigned accounts daily, determining the most effective collection strategies.
- Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned by management.
- Proven experience in collections, recovery, or financial services preferred
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with skip tracing tools and recovery platforms is a plus
- High level of integrity and professionalism
