Water Infrastructure Practice Lead | Kansas City, MO
Location: Kansas City, MO
An established engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced water and wastewater professional to take on a senior leadership position within its water infrastructure team.
This role offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships and team development across a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You'll have the opportunity to take greater ownership of projects, support clients with their infrastructure needs and help develop the engineers around you.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership across water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Lead project teams through planning, design and delivery
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources and overall delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with water and wastewater clients and project stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance on water infrastructure challenges and project requirements
- Support the preparation of proposals, scopes and project plans
- Identify opportunities within existing client relationships and contribute to securing new work
- Mentor and develop engineers within the water team
- Help coordinate workloads and resources to support successful project delivery
- Work with leadership on wider priorities and the continued development of the water infrastructure team
Qualifications required:
- Active PE license
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience within water/wastewater engineering or related water infrastructure
- Strong technical background across water and wastewater projects
- Experience across water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection or related infrastructure
- Previous project management and team leadership experience
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Experience mentoring and developing engineering staff
- Ability to contribute to business development and develop long-term client relationships
- Strong technical judgement, organization and problem-solving skills
