What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Traffic Engineer position at Metric Geo?
A very high performing team for traffic engineering in Jacksonville and Tallahassee is actively looking for top engineers to join their growing team on FDOT and municipal projects across Northern Florida.
They are looking for candidates with either a strong background in studies and analysis or in Design. You will:
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate transportation engineering work, including traffic impact analyses, traffic forecasting studies, roundabout feasibility studies, parking studies, signal timing studies, access management studies, intersection safety analyses, operational studies, and corridor studies
- Produce engineering drawings based on applicable traffic industry calculations
- Supervise less experienced engineers and technical support personnel
- Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, firm staff
You will need:
- A B.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or traffic planning projects
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
- Experience planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting transportation and traffic engineering work
- Proficiency in Synchro, OpenRoads; knowledge of HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, ArcGIS, CUBE, and TransCAD is desirable
- Strong understanding of and experience using HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, and DOT’s Policies and Procedures, including DOT policy manuals or similar documents
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
