Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

Overview
Metric Geo are currently on the search an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the full estimating lifecycle for heavy civil construction projects for a regional contractor. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids and collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end estimating process from concept through final bid
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to define scope
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and project teams for accuracy
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to validate pricing and scope
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and trade partners
- Identify risks, issues, and value engineering opportunities
- Support bid strategy and post-bid clarification activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with estimating software (HeavyBid, Bid2Win, etc.)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Government/public sector project experience is a plus
