Preconstruction Manager – Residential & Commercial Construction

About the Job:
We’re looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to support preconstruction and estimating efforts in the Fenton, MO market. This role is ideal for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, bidding, value engineering, and project planning.
This opportunity is with an established construction management and development company with experience across residential, hospitality, multifamily, senior living, and commercial construction.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage the preconstruction process from initial concept through construction handoff
- Prepare and review budgets, estimates, takeoffs, and cost projections
- Manage subcontractor and vendor bidding and evaluate proposals
- Develop detailed project scopes and bid packages
- Perform value engineering and cost analysis to maximize project value
- Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project documentation
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Identify potential cost, scheduling, constructability, and procurement risks
- Support project scheduling, procurement, and buyout
- Ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction into active construction
What We’re Looking For:
- Significant experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction management
- Strong understanding of construction costs, budgets, bidding, and estimating
- Experience managing subcontractor bids, scopes, and vendor relationships
- Ability to review and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Experience with value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost analysis
- Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams
- Residential, multifamily, hospitality, or commercial construction experience preferred
