Field Engineer

Field Engineer (Entry-Level) | New York City Area - Staten Island, NY Office

We are working with a growing heavy civil contractor with a strong pipeline of work ($50M backlog for 2026) who is looking to hire an Entry-Level Field Engineer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with 1–2 years of experience to gain hands-on exposure across a wide range of construction scopes, with clear progression opportunities into Project Management or Site Superintendent Leadership.

This contractor specializes in heavy construction, delivering projects across:

• Concrete & asphalt
• Earthwork & site development
• Utilities installation
• Demolition

They also self-perform material hauling and logistics, with in-house capabilities including dump trucks, flatbeds, boom trucks, lowboys, and roll-off services.

The firm is a certified MBE & DBE contractor, working with major public agencies including NYC, NY State, PANYNJ, and SCA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily field operations and site coordination
• Support Project Managers and Superintendents with project execution
• Perform quantity takeoffs and track production progress
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries
• Maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, daily reports)
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Participate in site inspections and progress meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management
• 0–2 years of construction experience (internships welcome)
• Willingness to work in a field-based environment
