Civil Estimator

Metric Geo is partnering with a well-established civil contractor in the Little Rock region to find an experienced Civil Estimator with a strong background in large-scale earthwork, utilities, roadways, and infrastructure development.

Role Overview:

You’ll take ownership of preparing detailed, competitive estimates for heavy civil projects—ranging from mass grading and site development to highway work and structural concrete. This role plays a critical part in preconstruction strategy, bid preparation, and early project planning.

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical data to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Build bid packages and coordinate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, structures, and related scopes.
• Assess project risks, constructability challenges, and value-engineering options.
• Support bid reviews and present cost breakdowns to leadership.
• Maintain organized cost data, production rates, and historical benchmarks.
• Collaborate with PMs and field teams to ensure seamless hand-off after award.

What You Bring:

• 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong background in earthwork, utilities, highway/roadwork, or site development.
• Proficiency with estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek/TBC, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Solid understanding of production rates, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans and perform detailed takeoffs.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with DOT, municipal, or large private civil projects.
• Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree.
