About the Job:

We’re looking for an experienced Area Manager – Luxury Custom Homes to oversee high-end residential construction projects throughout Boone, Blowing Rock, and the surrounding North Carolina High Country. This role is ideal for a residential construction professional with strong leadership experience who excels at managing multiple projects, construction teams, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

This opportunity is with an established luxury custom homebuilder specializing in unique, high-end residences throughout the Boone and Blowing Rock markets. The company is known for its commitment to quality construction, attention to detail, personalized design, and exceptional client experience.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee multiple luxury custom home projects from pre-construction through final completion and turnover.
• Manage and support Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and construction teams across the region.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, construction progress, profitability, and key milestones.
• Ensure all projects meet exceptional standards for quality, craftsmanship, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, vendors, suppliers, and homeowners throughout construction.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, estimates, contracts, and project documentation.
• Oversee estimating, procurement, subcontractor buyout, change orders, and project costs.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality control, and schedule adherence.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges while maintaining project timelines, budgets, and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.
• Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams while supporting business growth and operational improvements.
• Ensure successful project closeout, final inspections, punch lists, and homeowner turnover.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in residential construction management, ideally within luxury custom homebuilding.
• Previous experience as an Area Manager, Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple custom home projects and construction teams simultaneously.
• Experience managing ground-up luxury custom homes, high-end renovations, or complex residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, estimating, procurement, and quality control.
• Experience leading Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, architectural drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong understanding of residential construction processes, sequencing, and building standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong client-facing experience and commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work on-site throughout Boone, Blowing Rock, and surrounding areas.
